Getting started

Connect Storyteller

  1. Open Parrot and choose Add a library.
  2. Type your server’s address. Parrot checks it and recognises Storyteller.
  3. Sign in. Your books appear in the Library.

Connect Audiobookshelf

  1. Open Parrot and choose Add a library.
  2. Type your server’s address. Parrot recognises Audiobookshelf.
  3. Sign in with your Audiobookshelf account.

Start with Parrot Cloud

  1. Parrot Cloud is by invitation for now. Write to us to ask for one.
  2. Open Settings → Parrot Cloud and create an account.
  3. Add books from your device. They appear everywhere you sign in.

Common questions

Parrot can’t reach my server

Check that the address opens in a browser on the same device. If your server is only reachable at home, you need to be on that network or use a VPN.

The audiobook and ebook are in different places

Open the book, then Reading positions. Pick the place you want and choose which versions should follow.

Read-along doesn’t highlight the text

Highlighting needs an ebook that includes synced narration, such as one made with Storyteller. On Android, other ebooks can be read aloud with a downloaded voice.

Which file types can I add to Parrot Cloud?

EPUB, including EPUBs with narration. [CONFIRM audiobook formats]

Does Parrot Cloud cost anything?

Not during early access. If we add paid plans later, you will see the price first and nothing is charged unless you choose to buy.

Which languages does the dictionary support?

English for now.
